Swedish Massage
Warm oil, long gliding strokes, and a full hour where nothing is asked of you. Swedish is the massage everything else is measured against.

Deep Tissue Massage
Slower and firmer than Swedish, working through the surface layer into the muscle underneath — where the tension you have had for months actually lives.
Deep tissue earns its name from depth, not force. Your therapist uses forearms, braced thumbs and elbows and moves deliberately slowly, because tissue only releases when it stops bracing. Rushing it makes the muscle fight back.
You should feel a strong, workable ache — the kind you would lean into. You should never feel a sharp pain, and you should never be holding your breath. Say so the moment you are, and the pressure changes.

Expect to feel loose that evening and a little tender the next day, the way you would after a good gym session. Drink water, keep moving gently, and skip the ice bath. If you are sore for more than two days the pressure was too much — tell us and we will dial it back next time.
