Slow, feather-light pumping strokes that follow the direction lymph already travels. It looks like almost nothing is happening. It is not supposed to feel like deep tissue.

Why the pressure is so light
The lymphatic vessels sit just under the skin and have no pump of their own — they move fluid by muscle movement and by gentle external pressure. Press hard and you close them. So the strokes are light, slow, repetitive and directional, always towards the nodes at the neck, armpit and groin.
If your therapist is barely touching you, that is the technique working, not the technique being skipped.

Before you book
This is bodywork for comfort and relaxation, not a medical treatment. If you have lymphoedema after surgery or cancer treatment, a heart or kidney condition, an active infection or a blood clot, see your physician first — say so at intake and we will tell you honestly if we are the wrong place.
Drink water afterwards and expect to visit the bathroom more than usual for the rest of the day.
